New alien planet discovered that could be habitable. Over 1,094 planet candidates have been discovered however this new discovery is the first most habitable one they have found in comparison to the resources on earth. This means such things as the amount of sunlight received, the size of the planet, and other factors such as water. The observatory costed $600 million and was launched in March 2009 with the name of Kepler. Using the “transit” method it is able to find planets similar to earth that we could potentially live on some day or in the future.
Similar to our own solar system this new planet likely orbits other stars. We have been looking for the “Goldilocks planet” which means something that is just right for us including factors like heat and resources that exist. This is one small leap for NASA and one big leap for human kind!
